Meet the Counselor

Mrs. Chamberlain is originally from Syracuse, NY, and is a huge Syracuse Orange fan! She and her husband moved to Burke, VA from Ithaca, NY in 1978, moved back to Syracuse with their 2 children from 1983-1996, relocated to Williamsburg from 1996-2002, and then to Northern VA where they will remain. They have a daughter, son, son-in-law, and grandson! Mrs. C (as the students affectionately call her) received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 1979 from George Mason University, and a Master's Degree in Counseling in 1994 from SUNY Oswego. She has worked as a pre-school teacher, special education art teacher, second grade teacher, practice manager for a veterinary hospital, trainer for the People Skills Institute, and since 1994 has been a school counselor (middle school for 12 years and now elementary). She has been an adjunct professor at George Mason University since 2004, and is also a wedding celebrant for Prince William County Circuit Court. Her avocation is writing (she has four books in progress) and she also loves to play golf, kayak, hike, and read.
